We recently had a family reunion and loads of fascinating relatives came out of the woodwork - quilters from Canada, lawyers from Sydney, doctors from Auckland, proof readers from the Gold Coast, soon to be travellers to Bhutan and a tug boat captain from New Zealand. If the aforementioned captain happens to wander past this site, I would love to hear his comments on the various pics. Oh and I investigated Mt Taranaki and I was pleased to see that, though there is an English name for this peak, Capt Pete used the Maori term. (Though he did have to repeat it a number of times because I found it surprisingly difficult to get right...) Mt Egmont just doesn't have the pazazzzzz or engender the primitive terror that Taranaki does.
